What is the ideal coverage in your eyes?
What exactly are you looking for in an insurance policy? Of course we all want inexpensive rates, not cheap, but what else are you looking for as far as coverage goes? Are you looking for the largest network? Are you just concerned about a low monthly premium?
Medicare is not a one size fits all remedy. There are many moving parts that need to be explored, analyzed, and reexamined, at least once a year. You need to make sure that you have the right coverage and as time goes by, things change, and we need to make sure we are prepared for those changes. We do not get insurance for when we are healthy, we get insurance for when we are sick. How is your coverage going to stack up if something unforeseen comes up? Is it going to cover everything? What will be your responsibility?
I had a minor heart attack last year. I know there really isn’t anything minor about a heart problem, but I am a stubborn man, so it was minor. All those years of not taking care of myself caught up to me, and my body said that it was time to make some changes. As I was being wheeled into my room, out of the first ten things that popped into my head, seven of them were about cost! I was not thinking about my family as much as what it was going to cost me. Luckily, I had good insurance coverage at a reasonable rate. I came out of the hospital better not only from a physical standpoint, but without my wallet taking much of a hit as well. My point is that it’s important for you to evaluate what it is you are looking for from a coverage standpoint, and premium cost.
